Our sweet Southern Belle from South Carolina!
Meet SANDY. She’s a two-four year old, 50-lb. Pitbull mix who has been through the ringer. When she was brought in to a shelter down South, Sandy weighed just 18 lbs. and suffered from mange,* secondary infections and a URI.
But, just look at her now…all fifty, compact, short, stocky pounds of her! She is great with male dogs and possibly cats (though not 100% tested just yet). Sandy is heart worm negative, spayed, UTD on vaccinations and micro-chipped. It seems that life in the North has served her well.
Despite being failed by people in the past, Sandy LOVES people. She is super affectionate and somewhere along the way, put herself in the category of ‘lap dog’ but when you look at that face, how can you not agree that Sandy should be able to be whatever Sandy wants to be…including to be with a furever family!
While Sandy may steal your lap and steal your covers, she’ll also steal your heart. She has stolen every heart at HVARS, so we know what we’re talking about.
Fill out an application at www.hvars.org. Just in time for Thanksgiving and something to be extra thankful for this year!
*Sandy’s demodex mange, while treatable, is often a death sentence for shelter dogs because rarely does, or can, anyone devote the time it takes to treat it. We’re so glad we took that time. Sandy is now the picture of perfect health!
